My name is Tim, a private tutor from the Randstad. I have been active as a tutor for over more than 10 years, and although my specialisation is in English, I have engaged in many forms of teaching on various levels over the years. As a tutor I am happy as long as I can help you.
I hope that I can teach you how to learn better, how to reach the required grades, and how to engage with all the insights that come along the way. Moreover, I always try to aim for an interactive atmosphere. Communication is key. If you're interested, feel free to contact me!
A lot of students come to me because they want higher scores for their exams or they need to pass a proficiency test. However, they don't know how to study for it or how to use their time effectively. I can help direct the effort and manage our time efficiently.
Personal attention is very important for most students. It helps to stay motivated and it helps to stay concentrated. A lot of students easily get distracted or discouraged on their own, especially when they are having a hard time with the material.
In my tutoring I always try to create an interactive atmosphere. I usually ask questions to find out what your skill level is and to help you think about the material. Sometimes I will ask you to read a text or start a conversation.
"I know Tim (my brother) as a friendly, open and involved person. His helpful attitude is a benefit to his tutoring. He can explain things with clarity and provide the right guidance. At Tim's door, you are at the right address."
"Tim helped me with my English exam when I was still in highschool - and years later I went back to him when I needed to do an English test for my pre-master programme at TU Delft. Both times it was a great success!"
"I've had the pleasure of knowing Tim as both his instructor and thesis supervisor, and I have appreciated the curiosity and sense of wonder that he brings to his studies."
"Perfect! Learning and practicing with Tim was amazing! He is an incredible teacher and he was able to help me a lot. I needed to prepare for my TOEFL exam and he gave me that extra push I needed."
I generally discuss the prices of my tutoring lessons in a personal conversation. It depends on the level of teaching that is required. Currently, my minimum tutoring wage is €20 p/hr.
I teach both online and in person. Lessons can be arranged at home, at my place, or at a public place. I generally prefer to teach online or in the vicinity of Delft.
Although my specialisation is English, I'm perfectly capable of teaching any highschool subject at any given level. In fact, I have been doing so with much enjoyment for over more than 10 years.
